How to Get to Hangzhou from Shanghai or Shanghai Airport?

Usually, the airport you arrive from abroad is Shanghai Pudong airport, it’s about 180km to Hangzhou. There is no direct flight between, there are three ways to travel from Shanghai to Hangzhou:

1, Bullet train / high-speed train:

Take metro line 2 to Hongqiao Railway station, then take bullet train to Hangzhou, from 06:48-22:35, every 5-10 minutes,  1hours, price about CNY50-80, while first class seat or business class seat will be double or triple.

BTW, Shanghai Hongqiao railway station to Hangzhou East railway station, currently have more bullet train.

It’s the most convenient way, for us Chinese people, we will either drive from Hangzhou to Shanghai Pudong airport or take bullet train + metro.

2, Long-distance bus:

It takes 2.5 hours, CNY70-100, from Shanghai bus stations to Hangzhou. It’s might be the last one to consider, as you see, it need to travel to bus station first. (please note the listed depart time may change)

3, Taxi or Uber / Didi:

It takes 2.5 hours CNY700-1000, it’s the easiest way, no need take metro and train, only hope no traffic jam, and wish drive safe.

All in one, you can either take taxi, or take bullet train, and forget about the bus.
